2024 Spring Tryouts
We are excited to announce our 2024 BC Spartans Spring Tryouts. This season we will be running teams ranging from 2009 to 2017 birth years.
On-ice tryouts will be held for 2011-2016 birth years. There will be an online application process for 2009-2010 and 2017 birth years teams.
Tryouts this season will have a new updated format.
- Players will sign up for one of the two tryout session dates
- A few days before each session, registered players will receive pre-tryout evaluation details so they know how to prepare
- In order to allow players to display their overall abilities to the evaluators, tryouts will consist of two mandatory consecutive ice times for most sessions (exception: the 2011 and 2016 sessions on Oct 20 will have one ice time each. Single ice sessions will be gameplay only).
- The first ice time will be a on-ice skills evaluation led by BC Spartans Elite coaches. Players will be assessed by specific pre-determined criteria.
- The second ice time will be game play evaluation to assess overall skill, teamwork, positional play, work ethic, and hockey IQ.
- All participating players will receive evaluation feedback emailed to them after both tryouts are completed at the end of October. This will allow for their future development as players so they know what their strengths and areas of growth are.
NEW WEEKLY LEAGUE PLAY: Beginning in the 2024 season ALL of our Elite teams will be playing weekly games in the new Future Stars Hockey League.
